E-bike Library

The City of Tigard was awarded a sizable grant from Portland General Electric to help launch their new bike-sharing program. The initiative was designed to give lower income residents of Tigard access to free e-bikes and support the City’s vision of an equitable community that is walkable, healthy, and accessible for everyone, in part by increasing access to shared electric micro-mobility.

And they needed a safe and secure, lockable “library” to house and charge the bikes at select locations.

Our design team developed a cost-effective and practical, permanent structure that could be deployed in most any location, creating a repeatable and affordable facility to serve the needs of the program.

Four easily accessible bike lockers with custom locking posts and charging stations to keep the bikes secure and provide a visible staging area for safe arrival and departure.
