Benefit Americas History Wall

Benefit Cosmetics
Benefit Americas saw the great results at the mothership office and wanted one too!
Challenge

After the fun of building the first Benefit Cosmetics history wall, Benefit invited Figure Plant back to create another history wall at their Americas headquarters. Safe to say, we were thrilled. While some of the elements were duplicated for the second wall, the Americas headquarters wanted some other personal touches that represent the customers they serve in the Western Hemisphere. With 18 stops along the way, anyone could learn about Benefit’s story in the Americas.

Solution

One of the differences between the two walls was their location. The first Benefit wall was situated above a staircase in the center of the office. This Benefit Americas version was located alongside a hallway. It turned a boring wall into something fun and inspiring for employees to admire as they dash between break rooms and offices and meetings. Because of its location, we couldn’t have a giant 3D globe or claw machine that anyone could bump into. So we translated some of the timeline stops with what we call 2.5D elements. Stunning Benefit graphics were applied to a piece of Sintra that gave some depth and interest to the wall elements while not becoming a walking hazard. Our favorite piece was the LED map of the Americas. You may notice the entire map isn’t complete. But as Benefit Americas advances into these countries, they can update the map! Like a reverse scratch-off map, if you will.

Results

This project challenged us to adapt our designs to different environments and experiment with some new technologies. We love turning an old, boring wall into something magical. Instead of just any corporate office space, Benefit employees get to return to colorful and creative updates that can make working for Benefit that much more special.
